People,

Place & Spirit

We believe the world is a better place when you can see the stars. Out here under open sky, things are much as they have always been, and the stage is set for unbounded possibility – by seeing and realizing the best in all of us. At John Knox Ranch, we hold that time spent outdoors and away from city lights provides a unique setting in which we can recognize our truest and best selves. We’ve preserved a special place for people to gather to learn, have fun and grow.

On Saturday evening, May 23, 2015, the Central Texas/Hill County area around Wimberley and Blanco received a huge amount of rain, causing extensive and record-breaking flooding. John Knox Ranch was not exempt from the damage. All humans and animals are safe and okay.

However, the Dining Hall is demolished to the point of being irreparable. There is significant water damage and debris all the way down to the chapel steps. The river was 1/2 way up the steps that go up to the cabins. The Pool and Meeting House were also under water. The pool pump house (and its equipment) is a loss. The Meeting House had at least 7' of water in it. We are going to try to salvage it.

Camp IS ON!  We are reaching out for help and support as we hurry to prepare for our campers in the coming weeks. .
